My Workout experience with Wii Fit Starter Bundle
I set up my Wii Fit system as soon as I got the bundle. Firstly, I entered basic personal data such as height, age and gender as instructed by Wii console. The machine calculated my BMI and my fitness level shortly. After my profile creation was complete, I was ready to start getting a taste of Wii Fit.

I am always a fan of Strength Training. So I started with muscle-toning exercises such as Leg lift, Squat, Lunge and more. Wii Fit offered Push-up challenge and it was quite fun. I also played Yoga with the Wii balance board. I have been practicing Yoga for quite a while, so I had no problem in catching up with Yoga poses included in the Wii Fit, such as Cobra, Bridge, Spinal Twist, Shoulder Stand, Warrior and more. It was actually quite interesting to play Yoga with Wii Fit.

My favorite exercise so far is Hula Hoop. It was quite challenging to keep the hoops in the air in the beginning. After a couple of days’ training, I learned how to balance myself. After that, keeping all the hoops in the air while catching some more was really enjoyable. And it was a great workout too.

Does Wii Fit Work for me?
I have been playing with Wii Fit for 40 minutes a day, 3 days per week, during the past three months. Here is the result I’d like to share with you: I lost 4 pounds so far and dropped from size 8 to size 6. I eat like usual during these three months. So I think Wii Fit does work for me, and I will keep exercising and shaping up with Wii Fit.

Will Wii Fit work for you?
Many of you might be on the fence asking “Will Wii Fit work for me?” My answer is “Yes, it will. As long as you do it right and do it regularly.” Don’t get me wrong, Wii Fit  is not going to make you lose weight if you eat excessively and doing 10 minutes a day on Wii Fit. Caloric Deprivation Diets Excite Neural Response to Palatable Food

In a very recent study (May 2, 2013) done by nutrition scientists on weight loss and dieting, a curious conclusion was drawn—strict non-caloric diets can actually make you eat more caloric food. Scientists of the Oregon Research Institute concluded that diets with zero calorie content actually tend to develop your craving for more calorie-rich food.

The study involved two groups of adolescents who volunteered to subject themselves to rigid calorie-controlled diets for some time. This was to see their reaction to food stimuli through images of palatable food shown them during the study or the anticipation of being treated to palatable delights, both food images being high in calories. The study revealed that the stricter the diet and the longer the participants were subjected to such diets, the stronger their craving reaction for such food.

The brain system has an area where reward systems are enforced through dopamine transmissions to the brain. Highly non-caloric diets stimulate this brain reward system more and enhances the reward value of food—particularly delicious food. Two Amazing Fruit or Veggie Smoothie Recipes That Beam Like The Sun

I get bored of all these words they use to describe various smoothies and drinks that you can make. I mean, you can just tell by looking at them that they are packed full of goodness, and they taste delicious. In case you haven’t worked it out yet, i’m talking about healthy smoothies. People seem to be “abuzz” with these. Its a really quick and tasty way to get lots of healthy fruit and veg, and fibre etc in one cup of juice. Of course, smoothies health juices have been around for donkeys years, but only in the recent years have “Normal” people actually started downing them.

If you’re a smoothie lover, either of fruit or vegetable, i’m going to provide you with a delicious recipe for making a healthy, delicious smoothie. The first will be a vegetable / salad smoothie, and the second smoothie recipe will be a fruit based, more traditional smoothie.


Lets Begin The Journey

First things first, you need a blender / smoothie machine. You need to make sure you have as little chunks as possible in your smoothies, so get a powerful one. I saw one advertised on the TV and went for it. Its called a Nutribullet, and it blends everything i have ever put in it with ease, and only takes about 30 – 40 seconds, depending on the vegetables. The speed is probably down to its 600 watt motor! Oh, and as well as coming with 3 cups, lids, and different blades, you also get the free recipe book with it which is rather cool.

The Fruit Smoothie.

The fruit Smoothie is a smoothie for the less adventurous among us, which is totally fine. I never really thought that drinking vegetables would be so nice, but i was wrong. It is made with Blackberries, or mixed berries, peaches, and honey. The blackberries or mixed berries in this smoothie provide the awesome antioxidants our body needs to be healthy. Did you know that the more blue a fruit is, the more likely it is to have high antioxidants levels?


  • 10 Ounces of Frozen Mixed Berries or Blackberries
  • 15 Ounces of Peaches (If canned, remember to drain)
  • Two Tablespoons of Honey

So now you have your ingredients, just pop everything into your blender, juicer or mixer, with water or milk and give it a minute and its ready. After that, its ready to drink and enjoy. You can either transfer it into a cup or drink it straight from the mixer if you have a Nutribullet.

The Vegetable Smoothie

So, you decided to get serious. Good job. Vegetable smoothies can be a whole lot more healthy than regular fruit smoothies. So although this takes a bit more work, maybe an extra 2 -4 minutes, you get so much more goodness and nutrients. The ingredients are all really easy to find in a local supermarket, but if you are buing for the week, you should find a local vegatable market. You can maybe even get local grown veg and ingredients for a cheaper price. The ingredients are as follows;

  • handful of spinach
  • whole apple, cored but not peeled
  • handful of kale
  • 1 carrot, peeled
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed
  • 1 cup cranberry juice OR 1 cup grapes
  • 1 cup cubed ice

Mix it all up in your blender. Because of the flax seed, i would give the Nutribullet about a minute and a half before drinking it. The Spinach tastes really good in this and we already know that spinach is really healthy for you. After all, it is what Pop Eye ate 🙂

Ways to stay Fit without Leaving your house

Being fit is now something most people are trying to achieve. The way Insanity gets results, is it uses “Max Interval Training” to let you do your cardio in a small space. You do squats, push ups, sit ups, quickly and for a short time, cool off for a minute, and then do a different exercise. It burns fat incredibly quickly, and slowly builds muscles, giving you that toned luck.

Not up to that?

Don’t worry, we realized that some people would not enjoy that, and would find itfar too strenuous. If this is the case, as well as eating a healthy diet, you can push yourself to do as many pushups as you can in the morning, and as many pushups as you can at night, before you go to sleep. Don’t fret if you can’t do more that a handful. Keep doing them, and then a few days later, you will see that you can do 1 more. You should also be doing situps, to train your core muscles.

You get more out of your Pushups if you use proper Press Up handles, as it keeps your form correct which will allow you to train your abs whilst doing the push up. Dont worry about brands and quality with these, they are always super cheap and you can
